What Is Renuvion (J-Plasma)?
Renuvion is a cosmetic procedure using helium plasma (electrified helium gas) with proprietary radiofrequency to tighten skin. It can even be combined with other treatments for enhanced results. It is popularly used on the abdomen, breasts, back, arms, thighs, jawline, and neck.
How Does It Work?
Renuvion works by using helium plasma (plasma is the most common state of energy in the universe) with proprietary radiofrequency to heat the collagen tissue underneath the skin. This leads to a certain amount of immediate contraction and promotes further collagen remodeling. A small, discreet incision or opening is created near where Renuvion will be used. Then the device is inserted into the skin and uses dual plasma and radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin through contraction. Skin is then further tightened and often given a more youthful appearance through collagen production and remodeling stimulated by Renuvion.
Renuvion FDA Approved For Liposuction
Renuvion has recently been given a fourth cosmetic approval for use by the FDA. Renuvion now has 510(k) clearance for treating the soft tissue after liposuction has been completed. Liposuction is a popular cosmetic treatment to remove fat from a treatment site. However, skin can sometimes appear loose or saggy after enough fat has been removed. This has traditionally been counteracted with things like surgical lifts. Now Renuvion can use plasma to tighten skin after liposuction while remaining minimally invasive.
