Thanksgiving Alert: How to Avoid Weight Gain After Body Contouring

Liposuction Washington, D.C.
Getting the perfect body with one of our body contouring procedures from West End Plastic Surgery is one thing, but gaining any weight back afterward is another. Here at our office, we like to see all of our patients succeed (especially after they get a body contouring procedure done). To help you gain back any unnecessary holiday weight gain, we have created a list of a few things that you can do.

Fill Up On Turkey

Thanksgiving wouldn’t be Thanksgiving unless you left the table feeling completely stuffed, right? Rather than loading up on things like casseroles and mashed potatoes though, consider filing up on turkey instead. Turkey is a low fat, high-protein meat which means that it gives you the excuse to eat a second helping (and maybe even a third). To avoid extra calories, try to steer clear of drenching it in cranberry sauce or gravy though.

Skip the Casseroles

Even though your aunt’s famous sweet potato casserole may sound like your idea of a good time on Thanksgiving, it’s likely loaded in more fat and calories than you know what to do with. Rather than eating casseroles, why not eat fresh vegetables that have been grilled or roasted? For instance, instead of eating a traditional green bean casserole, why not make some sauteed fresh green beans? They will be healthier and lower in calories; both of which are what you want.

Eat Small Portions

Other than turkey, make sure that you are eating small portions of everything else. You may be surprised to see how quickly you can fill up on smaller portions than you are used to. Also, try to avoid going back for seconds because that’s where the extra calories really are.

Body contouring procedures like liposuction can help you get rid of stubborn unwanted fat. To avoid gaining any weight back after surgery, use the tips listed in this article.
